Champagne Elise Dechannes
CĹ“ur de Noir
The Champagne Cœur de Noir by Elise Dechannes is a Blanc de Noirs born from a single plot, the Champ Méchain (lieu-dit), owned by the family in Les Riceys, a village in the Côte des Bar also known for the AOC Rosé des Riceys. From this vocated terroir, where Pinot Noir finds one of its most authentic expressions, comes a wine of strong territorial identity, generous and sincere, that tells with clarity the deep bond between the vigneronne and her land, interpreted with respect and with an artisanal approach that lets nature speak.
This edition, from the 2021 harvest, undergoes vinification and maturation in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and a minimal use of sulphites. After bottling comes an ageing on the lees for over 4 years that builds complexity and finesse, while the choice to leave the wine with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, enhances its purity and expressive precision.
On tasting, CĹ“ur de Noir presents itself as generous and enveloping, with an aromatic profile dominated by tones of ripe fruit that define its sunny character. On the palate it is fresh and thirst-quenching, supported by a saline tension that balances its generosity and lends momentum and definition. The balance between roundness and freshness delivers a long and vibrant persistence, where a clean, well-sustained finish signs off a wine of great coherence and expressive pleasure. Made in a limited run of just 1,644 bottles.
