Millésime 2002
The Champagne Millésime 2002 by Fleury is crafted from a blend of 77% Pinot Noir and 23% Chardonnay, grown according to biodynamic principles. This cuvée offers a sincere and vibrant interpretation of the Courteron terroir, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, authentically reflecting the character of the vintage.
This particular edition is partially vinified in 25% fût de chêne, while the extended lees aging – over 20 years – carves out a structure of remarkable depth. The final dosage, in Extra Brut style at 4 g/l, emphasizes the wine’s purity and essential character.
On tasting, Fleury Millésime 2002 displays a bright golden hue, animated by a very fine and consistent bead. The bouquet is complex and layered: opening with notes of dried fruit, candied citrus, honey and sweet spices, interwoven with toasty nuances and hints of iodine. On the palate, it reveals energy and composure, with enveloping texture and a vibrant tension that amplifies its aromatic persistence. A great vintage Champagne, elegantly expressing the passage of time and the artisanal vision of the Fleury family.
