The Champagne Vinothèque Millésime by Guy Michel are a tribute to time and memory. Born from exceptional harvests and aged for decades on the lees, these cuvées are produced in extremely limited quantities, embodying the truest soul of the Domaine. Each bottle reflects a vision deeply rooted in the tradition of the Vallée de la Marne, where patience and savoir-faire merge in a synthesis of elegance and depth.
The Millésime 1998 stands out for its balanced blend of 50% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier, and 30% Pinot Noir, a true expression of a historic vintage. The exceptionally long ageing – over 25 years on the lees – has allowed the wine to develop an extraordinary aromatic complexity, making this cuvée a rare example of harmony and refinement. The Extra Brut dosage preserves the essential character, highlighting the wine’s precision and the integrity of its gustatory balance.
In the glass, it reveals an intense golden hue, crossed by an extremely fine and consistent perlage. The bouquet opens with evolved notes of dried fruit, candied citrus, brioche, and sweet spices, anticipating a deep, expansive, and perfectly balanced palate where tension and substance chase each other with impeccable style.
