The Champagne Pureté by Geoffroy is the most essential and rigorous expression of the Domaine’s philosophy, capable of conveying with absolute clarity the identity of the terroir and the purity of the fruit. The blend of the three classic grape varieties – Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay – comes exclusively from a selection of parcels in the village of Cumières, Premier Cru in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, where soils and microclimates contribute to defining a style that is fresh, vibrant, and deeply mineral.

The cuvée combines 50% from the 2018 vintage and 50% from réserve perpétuelle started in 1970, a historical matrix that brings complexity, depth, and stylistic consistency. The vinification includes partial fermentation in oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve tension and aromatic precision. This is followed by a maturation of at least 60 months on the lees and a total absence of final dosage (Brut Nature), a choice that demands grapes of the highest quality and flawless winemaking. The result is a Champagne that is pure and straightforward, free from any corrective intervention, where the raw material is the absolute protagonist.

Upon tasting, Pureté shows a bright golden yellow colour and a fine, continuous perlage. The bouquet is precise and vertical: fresh citrus, green apple, white flowers, and chalk, with subtle hints of crusty bread and light toasting. On the palate, it is tense, vibrant, and pure, marked by a pronounced mineral texture that enhances its verticality. A Champagne with a clear and incisive personality, designed for those seeking an authentic and uncompromising expression of the terroir.

The story of Champagne Geoffroy begins in the Premier Cru village of Cumières, among the most authentic terroirs of the Grande Vallée de la Marne, where the family has tended the vines since the early seventeenth century. Vignerons from one generation to the next, in the early 1950s Roger Geoffroy chose to vinify and bottle his own Champagne, giving rise to the brand. His son René expanded the Domaine with new plots, before Jean-Baptiste, a graduate in viticulture and oenology, took over at the end of the 1980s.

Since 2007, the new estate in Aÿ has allowed an entirely gravity-fed vinification, capable of preserving the integrity of the grapes and bringing out the character of each plot, vinified separately with meticulous attention. This care stems from a clear conviction, for in Jean-Baptiste's eyes the terroir is the true protagonist, and more than the grape variety it is Cumières that lends identity to his Champagnes and Coteaux Champenois. A vision that today looks to the future, as in 2024 the torch passes to the new generation, with Sacha Geoffroy working alongside her father in running the estate, ensuring a continuity built on excellence and innovation.

Across the family's fifteen hectares, all Premier Cru, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier and two forgotten varieties, Petit Meslier and Arbane, ripen side by side, sharing the same exposure and care and heightening the unique imprint of the terroir. This vision makes Geoffroy a benchmark among Vignerons, for its commitment to soil regeneration and the protection of biodiversity.
