Vincent Couche is one of the leading figures of the new generation of vignerons in the Côte des Bar, the southern area of Champagne known for its Kimmeridgian soils and for a viticulture deeply connected to the territory. The Domaine is based in Buxeuil, with parcels also located in Montgueux, a hillside near Troyes on the edge of the Côte des Blancs, renowned for its chalky soils particularly suited to Chardonnay. Since the 1990s, Vincent Couche has embraced a biodynamic approach, obtaining Demeter certification and developing vineyard management focused on biodiversity and soil vitality.

The Domaine’s production philosophy follows a low-intervention approach designed to preserve the identity of both the grapes and the parcels. Fermentations occur spontaneously, while vinification alternates between stainless steel and oak with very limited use of sulphur. The work carried out between Buxeuil and Montgueux highlights two complementary expressions of Champagne, combining the structure and depth of Côte des Bar Pinot Noir with the mineral tension and precision of Chardonnay grown on the chalky soils of Montgueux.

Vincent Couche’s style focuses on energy, precision and a strong sense of terroir, creating Champagnes capable of expressing the influence of both soil and vintage with clarity. The pursuit of balance comes through careful ageing, minimal cellar intervention and constant attention to fruit purity. The result is wines with an intense and dynamic profile, marked by vibrant tension, aromatic depth and a pronounced mineral character that clearly reflects the identity of the Côte des Bar.
