Blanc de Noirs - Édition 35 - Magnum
The Champagne Blanc de Noirs by Eric Rodez represents the most authentic soul of the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, in the Montagne de Reims. Here, Pinot Noir finds its purest expression thanks to the vision of Eric Rodez, the eighth generation of vignerons and a dedicated advocate of respectful and biodynamic viticulture. This Blanc de Noirs was conceived as a statement of strength and sensitivity, capable of combining energy, finesse, and depth while elegantly reflecting the richness of Ambonnay’s terroir.
Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grown in various parcels of the village, the wine is crafted from a blend of 5 to 6 different vintages, about 70% of which are vinified in small oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is avoided for most of the base wines to preserve their original tension and freshness. After tirage, the wine matures on the lees for over 60 months, with a final Extra Brut dosage that highlights its purity and natural structure.
In tasting, this Blanc de Noirs reveals an intense golden color with amber reflections. The bouquet is broad and layered, offering aromas of ripe red fruits, dried fruit, toasted almond, and hints of brioche and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, supported by vibrant freshness and a precise mineral texture. The mousse is fine and creamy, accompanying a long, saline, and harmonious finish, perfectly balanced between power, elegance, and tension.
Since 2024, the label has featured the edition number, indicating the year of tirage: Édition 35 – tirage 2019.
