Champagne Bruno Paillard
Rosé Première Cuvée
The Champagne Rosé Première Cuvée by Bruno Paillard is a tribute to the lively delicacy of Pinot Noir from the young and rigorous Maison founded in Reims in 1981, a Rosé that owes its name to the exclusive use of the first and purest pressing. As the Maison's principal interpretation in pink, it is born from the meeting of a majority of this variety with a small share of Chardonnay, in a refined blend that embodies the pursuit of purity and authenticity proper to the Maison, elegantly revealing the freshness and the fruit of its terroirs of origin.
This edition takes shape from a blend that expresses a clear prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes at around 85%, vinified in its two forms, as a white with a rapid pressing and as a red with a prolonged maceration of the skins, sourced from the villages of Verzenay, Bouzy, Mailly and Les Riceys and completed by a minimal share of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. To these are added the vin de réserve, the fruit of more than 25 harvests assembled since 1985 in a proportion that can reach up to 50%, always obtained from the first pressing alone. Vinification and fermentation are carried out partly in stainless steel and partly in wood, followed by a long maturation of at least 3 years on the lees, up to a final dosage in an Extra Brut style, which completes the profile with balance and enhances the aromatic freshness of this Champagne Rosé.
In tasting, Rosé Première Cuvée stands out for delicacy, freshness and balance rather than power, showing a golden copper hue with a slight raspberry tint in its youth that evolves towards salmon with ageing, animated by a particularly fine perlage. On the nose it opens on red fruits caught in all their freshness, accompanied by a touch of lemon that reveals the discreet presence of the Chardonnay, with nuances that over time tend towards darker fruits such as ripe cherry, fig and blackberry. On the palate the lively, fleshy attack reveals a texture of strong personality, where the fruit of the Pinot Noir meets a fresh, mineral tension, supported by a salinity that carries a luminous finish of fine length, in which delicacy and vitality intertwine with rare harmony.
