Champagne Veuve Clicquot
Rosé Vintage 2015
The Champagne Vintage Rosé by Veuve Clicquot embodies the art of waiting and the audacity that have always defined the Maison's signature, heir to the tradition founded by Madame Clicquot, the first to conceive in 1818 a blended rosé by uniting the red wines of Bouzy with the white ones. Every Vintage comes into being only when the year reaches a quality worthy of being crystallised in time, preserving the unrepeatable character of a single year and the solar elegance that makes this cuvée one of the most recognisable interpretations in all of Champagne.
This sixty-seventh edition, Vintage 2015, shows a predominance of Pinot Noir grapes at 50%, joined by 30% Chardonnay for finesse and elegance and 20% Meunier to complete its profile, enriched by 13% red wine from the Pinot Noir of Bouzy. Around 10% of the wines are vinified and matured in oak barrels, a choice that, together with the prolonged maturation on the lees of at least six years, lends structure and aromatic richness, while the final dosage of 8 g/l, in Brut style, defines its overall harmony with measure.
On the palate, Vintage Rosé 2015 presents itself with an intense rose robe streaked with coppery reflections, a foretaste of a profile that is at once fresh and deep, in which purity and complexity intertwine with great coherence. The structure is full and enveloping, sustained by a spiced salinity that sculpts the palate and by a vibrant tension that supports its momentum, in a balance played on the contrast between fruity richness and mineral clarity. The persistence closes long and refined, leaving a finish of rare precision and elegance.
