The Champagne Mailly-Champagne Millésime by Bérêche & Fils expands the Domaine’s collection of lieux-dits with a rigorous interpretation of the eponymous Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims. This Blanc de Noirs originates from a single parcel characterized by deep, clay-rich soils, a feature that gives Pinot Noir – the emblematic grape of the village – structure, breadth, and a marked territorial imprint. The parcel-based approach enhances identity and precision, delivering a faithful and distinctive expression of the site.

This edition, Millésime 2020, was shaped by a regular growing season, with gradual ripening and perfectly healthy fruit, capable of combining concentration with vibrant tension. Vinification and fermentation with indigenous yeasts take place in neutral French oak barrels, a choice that enriches texture without altering the varietal profile. After tirage, the second fermentation occurs in bottle under natural cork, followed by at least 48 months on the lees, enhancing depth and aromatic complexity. The final dosage of 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, supports balance while preserving integrity and precision.

On the nose, Mailly-Champagne 2020 reveals aromas of crunchy red berries, delicate spices, dried herbs, and chalky mineral nuances. On the palate, it shows intensity and tension, combined with a refined and silky texture. The structure is firm yet dynamic, leading to a savory and persistent finish marked by fine, vertical notes, achieving a harmonious balance between energy and depth. Produced in a limited run of 3,500 bottles.
