The Champagne Monts de Vertus by Veuve Fourny & Fils comes from vines over 50 years old located in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, on Premier Cru slopes characterized by pure chalk soils that provide tension and expressive precision. This Blanc de Blancs cuvée made from Chardonnay authentically interprets the identity of the lieu-dit “Monts de Vertus,” expressing depth, verticality, and a clear mineral imprint.
This edition, Millésime 2017, reflects a balanced vintage, capable of combining fruit maturity with fresh momentum. Vinification includes approximately 7 months of maturation in stainless steel, a choice that preserves aromatic purity and definition. After bottling, the wine ages on its lees for a minimum of five years, developing greater complexity and layered character. The dosage of 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, enhances the transparency of the terroir and maintains a dry, linear profile.
On the nose, Monts de Vertus 2017 reveals aromas of fresh citrus, white apple, and delicate flowers, accompanied by chalky nuances and light notes of fine pastry. On the palate, the texture is taut and precise, supported by marked minerality and a fine, persistent mousse. The structure is sleek yet incisive, with vibrant freshness leading to a long, saline, and harmonious finish.
