Le Clos des Trois Clochers 2019
The Champagne Le Clos des Trois Clochers 2019 by Leclerc Briant is a Blanc de Blancs from a single Lieu-Dit of 0.40 hectares, planted with Chardonnay in 1967 and located in the Premier Cru village of Villers-Allerand, in the Grande Montagne de Reims. This clos, spread over three exposures and shaped by a distinctive microclimate, offers a rare balance between freshness, ripeness, and mineral complexity.
The 2019 vintage, generous and sunlit, enhances the varietal purity of Chardonnay. Vinification and maturation for nine months in oak barrels bring depth and roundness to the wine, followed by a minimum of 60 months of lees ageing after bottling. The low dosage of 2.4 g/l, in Extra Brut style, highlights the clarity of the fruit and the mineral tension—hallmarks of Leclerc Briant’s philosophy rooted in balance, vitality, and deep respect for the terroir.
On the palate, Le Clos des Trois Clochers 2019 reveals a bright golden hue with vivid highlights and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is broad and multifaceted, where notes of lemon zest, verbena, and acacia flowers merge with warmer tones of caramel, toasted almond, and grilled bread. As it opens, aromas of mint, bergamot, fresh hazelnut, and exotic fruits such as vineyard peach and passion fruit emerge. The palate is harmonious, juicy, and silky, supported by a perfectly integrated citrus acidity. The oak framework adds depth and cohesion, while the finish—elegant, saline, and subtly spicy—lingers with remarkable finesse.
