Champagne Pertois-Moriset
Rosé Blanc Collection Magnum
The Champagne Rosé Blanc by Pertois-Moriset offers an interpretation of rosé d’assemblage that starts with Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, grown in the vineyards of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Chouilly, where the chalk lies just a few centimetres below the surface, and completes it with a small share of Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru of Bouzy, known for its optimal ripeness and structure.
This edition, based on the 2022 harvest, is completed by around 30% vin de réserve and features a blend of 92% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Noir grapes, with the Chardonnay vinified and fermented in stainless steel tanks and the Pinot Noir macerated on its skins in neutral oak barriques. After tirage comes ageing on the lees for around 36 months, while the final dosage of 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, keeps freshness and salinity in the foreground.
In tasting, Rosé Blanc stands out for its pale salmon-pink hue, which introduces aromas of strawberry, raspberry and cherry, joined by notes of rose and citrus zest over a chalky background that supports the aromatic opening. On the palate the freshness of the Chardonnay leads the development with a fine and creamy perlage, while the red wine adds a subtle tannin that brings texture and a delicate spicy note, in a precise balance between fruit and tension that leads to a straight, saline and long finish.
