La Pierre "Pinot Noir"
The Champagne La Pierre by Copinet tells the intimate, deep dialogue between Pinot Noir and the limestone of the Côte des Bar, giving rise to a Blanc de Noirs of authentic character and forthright identity. It takes shape in Verpillières-sur-Ource from the single parcel La Croix Maître-Anne (lieu-dit), where vines planted between the Sixties and Seventies sink into clay-limestone soils able to grant the wine great tension, salinity and a luminous mineral energy.
This edition interprets a pure, concentrated Pinot Noir, vinified in stainless steel with spontaneous fermentations led by indigenous yeasts drawn from the same vineyard, following a viticulture attentive to biodiversity. After tirage comes an ageing on the lees of at least 24 months, while the choice to leave the wine without any final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, keeps its clarity intact and heightens its saline vibrancy.
On tasting, La Pierre reveals itself with a pale robe shot through with coppery reflections and an aromatic profile that weaves together small red berries, stone fruit and delicate spicy and balsamic accents, sustained by a clear-cut breath of stone and chalk. On the palate it shows a taut, finely concentrated character, where the vibrant freshness and the saline weave guide a long, mineral finish of great precision and elegance, one that sharply mirrors its deep limestone origin.
