Cuvée Rosé Papillons Edition

The Champagne Cuvée Rosé by Laurent-Perrier was created in 1968 out of the Maison’s boldness and savoir-faire, and over the years it has become an absolute benchmark of its category for consistency and quality. Its identity comes from the Montagne de Reims, where ten different Crus, including the renowned Côte de Bouzy, yield a Pinot Noir of rare expressiveness. It is one of the most brilliant examples of Champagne Rosé de Saignée, the result of a maceration that enhances colour and aromatic richness, while the bottle, inspired by the squat shapes of the era of Henri IV, tells the singular story of this creation all by itself.

This edition, Papillons, changes only the “dress”, with the bottle of Cuvée Rosé wrapped in a decorative case with a butterfly pattern, a limited-edition “haute couture” look. The vinification remains entirely devoted to Pinot Noir, harvested from carefully selected plots in the finest Grand Cru villages, including Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois and Tours-sur-Marne. The maceration, which lasts from 48 to 72 hours depending on the harvest, favours the extraction of colour and the development of the grape’s full aromatic richness. This is a rosé shaped by the purity of a single variety, where every stage is calibrated to preserve freshness and elegance, the unmistakable signature of the house style.

In tasting, Cuvée Rosé shows a colour that naturally ranges from a lovely raspberry hue to salmon pink, a sign of its authenticity. On the nose it is precise and remarkably fresh, with a wide range of red fruits from raspberry and redcurrant to strawberry and black cherry. On the palate the attack is fresh and assertive, while the soft, round structure guides the balance, and the finish unfolds generously, giving the feeling of diving into a basket of freshly picked red fruits.
