Blanc de Meuniers Millésime 2018
The Champagne Blanc de Meuniers Millésime by Leclerc Briant is conceived as a rigorous, identity-driven interpretation of Meunier, a grape variety central to the Maison’s vision, here expressed through carefully selected Premier Cru–classified vineyards. This Blanc de Noirs fits seamlessly into Leclerc Briant’s stylistic path as an expression of terroir, natural tension, and respect for the balance between substance and freshness, with the aim of delivering an authentic, deep, and clearly legible profile of the variety.
This Millésime 2018 edition is vinified and aged for at least 9 months in fût de chêne, a choice designed to support the wine’s development without overshadowing its varietal character. After tirage, the wine continues with a long lees ageing of over 6 years, building complexity and integration. The final Extra Brut dosage of 2.4 g/l completes the process, preserving precision, verticality, and stylistic coherence.
In tasting, Blanc de Meuniers Millésime 2018 shows a pale golden yellow colour with light straw reflections, bright and refined. The aromatic profile is layered and dynamic, with notes of orange blossom, fresh pear, plum, elderflower, and fleur de lys, enriched by a mineral nuance of smoky flint. On the palate, the texture is generous and fleshy, supported by a vibrant acidity that brings depth and drive. The progression is continuous and enveloping, with saline returns, creamy accents, and a long, balanced finish of marked personality.
