The Champagne La Clé des Sept Arpents by Laurent Bénard precisely embodies the philosophy of Laurent Bénard, based on respectful viticulture and artisanal winemaking. The blend includes 50% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay, and 5% Meunier, with grapes sourced from the villages of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d’Or, and Mutigny, grown on clay-limestone soils with a chalk subsoil. The grapes come from four meticulously selected lieux-dits: Chemin du Bois, La Maladrille, Les Basses Clefs, and Les Sept Arpents, each contributing depth and distinctive nuances to the cuvée.

The base is made up of 70% wines from the 2020 harvest and 30% from a Réserve Perpétuelle, started in 2012 and aged in foudre. Fermentations are spontaneous, taking place in both wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks, followed by 10 months of ageing. After bottling, the wine rests for at least 30 months on its lees, with a very low final dosage of 1.5 g/l – Extra Brut, preserving its energy, precision, and transparency.

On tasting, La Clé des Sept Arpents reveals an elegant and incisive profile: floral and citrus notes, chalky accents, and a finesse that reflects its terroir. On the palate, it is tense and dynamic, supported by a vibrant acidity and a mineral texture that extends into a long, persistent finish.
