Champagne Extra Brut
La Pouillotte

The Champagne La Pouillotte by Jérôme Blin tells the most authentic story of Vincelles, a village on the Rive Droite of the Vallée de la Marne where Meunier finds one of its most vibrant and terroir-driven expressions. The vines, with an average age of 35 years, grow on clay, silt and limestone soils and are farmed with respect for the environment, although without certification. It is an artisanal vision centred on faithfulness to the place and precision in the vineyard.

This edition, based on the 2017 harvest, shows a clear predominance of Meunier grapes, completed by 19% Chardonnay grapes. Vinification and fermentation follow a traditional approach in stainless steel vats, with spontaneous fermentations carried out by indigenous yeasts. After tirage, the wine ages for about 36 months on the lees, which gives it structure and complexity without taking away its precision. The final dosage, in Extra Brut style, underlines a pared-back and elegant character.

On tasting, La Pouillotte shows a bright golden colour and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose opens on ripe yellow fruit and quince, with floral hints, mineral notes and delicate touches of pastry. On the palate it shows balance and tension, with a structure carried by precise freshness that leads to a long, persistent finish of great purity and depth. Total production amounts to 2,500 bottles.
