Dizy - Corne Bautray 2014

The Champagne Dizy - Corne Bautray 2014 is one of the most significant expressions of Maison Jacquesson's parcellaire philosophy, conceived to faithfully and transparently reflect the identity of a single Lieu-Dit. The cuvée is made from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from a small parcel planted in 1960 on the southern slopes of the Dizy hillside. The southwest exposure and deep calcareous-clay soils give the wine solid structure, vibrant tension, and remarkable ageing potential.

The 2014 harvest was vinified entirely in fût de chêne, following an artisanal, non-interventionist approach that has always defined the Maison’s production philosophy. After fermentation, the wine evolved on the lees for around eight years, before being disgorged with a minimal dosage of 1 g/l (Extra Brut). A stylistic choice aimed at highlighting the purity of the terroir and the natural energy of the grape.

On the palate, Corne Bautray 2014 reveals a deep and chiselled profile, with verticality where minerality, finesse, and intensity merge seamlessly. The bouquet opens with notes of candied citrus, toasted hazelnut, white flowers, and flint, while the palate, dense and saline, stretches out elegantly, enhancing the chalky imprint of the parcel. A great Blanc de Blancs for contemplation, released in just 5,680 bottles and 300 magnums, underscoring its exclusivity.
