Champagne Jacques Rousseaux

Cuvée Montgolfière

The Champagne Cuvée Montgolfière by Jacques Rousseaux is the result of an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from old vineyards located near the village of Verzenay, a 100% Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. This Champagne undergoes soft pressing and vinification in stainless steel; fermentation for around 30 months on the lees and a final dosage of 3 g/l (making it an Extra Brut).

The Champagne Cuvée Montgolfière by Jacques Rousseaux has a luminous, pale gold colour. On the nose it is heady, peppery, smoky with delicate notes of apricot and peach. A Champagne Extra Brut of great freshness and lightness.

Jacques Rousseaux

The Rousseaux family has been linked to the world of Champagne and the Verzenay village dating back to the 1700s. : digging into the town's historical archives, can be find documents showing that François Rousseaux was already present in 1776 and that a hundred years later, in 1884, Paul Rousseaux, sharing the idea of other vignerons in the area, produced and marketed his own wines.

Today, Jacques Rousseaux Domaine is run by Céline Rosseaux and her brother Eric, the latest generation of the family. Located in Verzenay, a 100% Grand Cru village in Montagne de Reims, the property cultivates its 8 hectares mainly with Pinot Noir (90%) and Chardonnay (10%). The particular position of the vineyards to the North-East, combined with a favourable microclimate, allows to obtain grapes with intense colour and flavour, as elegant Pinot Noir.
