Notes Blanches 2018
The Champagne Notes Blanches by Fleury is conceived as a rare and identity-driven interpretation of Pinot Blanc, one of the least common grape varieties in Champagne. Sourced from the family vineyards in the Côte des Bar, cultivated according to biodynamic principles — a philosophy central to the Domaine’s work — this Blanc de Blancs cuvée aims to express the purity of the fruit and the natural energy of the terroir. The choice of Pinot Blanc, a historical yet nearly forgotten variety, defines the distinctive character of Notes Blanches.
A Millésime 2018, it is vinified following an essential and respectful approach, with spontaneous fermentations driven by indigenous yeasts and a long ageing on the lees prior to disgorgement. It is released as a Brut Nature, with no final dosage, a stylistic decision that highlights tension, precision, and expressive transparency.
On tasting, Notes Blanches 2018 appears bright, with a pale straw colour and coppery reflections. The nose weaves together yellow fruit, notes of white pepper, hints of aromatic herbs, honey, and a subtle resinous touch, maintaining an elegant and complex profile. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious, featuring vibrant freshness, fine texture, and a long, mineral finish, animated by citrus and fruit-driven nuances.
