Ambonnay Millésime 2017
The Champagne Ambonnay Millésime by André Beaufort is produced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay, a historic village on the south-eastern slope of the Montagne de Reims, in an area between Reims, Épernay and Châlons-sur-Marne. It is the expression of a powerful, sun-exposed terroir, interpreted through the Domaine’s radical vision, grounded in natural viticulture, respect for biological cycles and the pursuit of a territorial identity free from stylistic mediation.
This 2017 vintage edition is made from a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, sourced solely from Grand Cru classified parcels. The first fermentation takes place in oak barrels, a choice that supports the wine’s structure without altering its profile, while after tirage the wine undergoes lees ageing for at least six years. Riddling and disgorgement are carried out manually, and the Champagne is released with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, fully consistent with the vigneron’s essential approach.
In tasting, Ambonnay Millésime 2017 shows a pale yellow colour with greenish highlights, a sign of freshness and precision. On the palate, it reveals a creamy, silky texture, supported by a fine, enveloping mousse, never aggressive. Initial notes of apple and citrus gradually evolve into more mature, toasted nuances of dried fruit, outlining a Champagne of intensity and elegance, deep and contemplative, crafted for enthusiasts seeking authentic and strongly character-driven expressions.
