The Champagne Les Coullemets by Élise Bougy is conceived as a parcel-specific and deeply identity-driven interpretation of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a Grand Cru emblematic of the Côte des Blancs. This Blanc de Blancs takes shape from a historic, family-owned lieu-dit, planted to Chardonnay on pure chalk, a geological matrix that imparts tension and verticality. Élise Bougy’s project, an expression of a new generation of vignerons, is rooted in viticulture that respects natural balance and in a vision of Champagne as a wine of origin, capable of conveying terroir and vintage with precision, free from stylistic mediation.

This edition, with a 2021 base vintage, is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Vinification and maturation take place in 600-liter demi-muids, with spontaneous fermentation, no fining or filtration, in keeping with an approach of minimal intervention. After tirage, the wine continues its lees ageing for a minimum of 36 months. The absence of final dosage, in Brut Nature style, defines an essential framework aimed at maximum expressive transparency.

On tasting, Les Coullemets reveals a taut and incisive profile, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and flinty minerality, supported by a pronounced mineral backbone. On the palate, the texture is linear and vibrant, with a streamlined structure, precise acidity, and a saline progression that carries through to a long, dry finish. Overall balance rests on expressive purity and finesse, delivering a Champagne of strong coherence and clear territorial expression.
