Les Chétillons 2017
The Champagne Les Chétillons by Robert Moncuit is a Blanc de Blancs of extraordinary purity, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes coming from the eponymous lieu-dit of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most prestigious Grand Crus of the Côte des Blancs. This historic vineyard, characterised by chalky soils and an ideal exposure, expresses with rare precision the mineral elegance and the depth that define the great vintages of this terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2017, calls for vinification and maturation in fût de chêne for about 10 months, with spontaneous fermentations that respect the integrity of the fruit and of the soil. After tirage, the wine matures for over 79 months on the lees, enriching itself with complexity and finesse. The absence of dosage, in a Brut Nature style, enhances the transparency and mineral tension of the Chardonnay, offering an authentic and crystalline expression of the Mesnil terroir.
On the palate, Les Chétillons 2017 appears with a pale golden colour and a very fine, regular perlage. The bouquet is deep and refined, with notes of candied citrus, flint, white flowers and hints of salted butter and hazelnut. On the palate it reveals a perfect balance between density and freshness, with a vibrant, saline and precise structure that accompanies a long, pure finish of masterful elegance.
