Le Replat des Envieuses
The Champagne Le Replat des Envieuses by Domaine La Borderie springs from a vibrant stretch of the CĂ´te des Bar, among the gentle chalky slopes around the village of Buxeuil where Meunier reveals an unexpected purity and a wholly mineral tension that is rarely acknowledged in this grape. It is the clear expression of an agro-ecological approach built on biodiversity, hedgerows, trees and living soil, where the vineyard becomes a pulsing ecosystem and every parcel guards the most authentic and profound identity of its Kimmeridgian terroir.
This edition, from the 2022 harvest, presents itself as a vibrant Blanc de Noirs able to convey its terroir with rare clarity. Vinification and maturation unfold with great gentleness in a gravity-fed cellar, where the prevalence of steel preserves the freshness and aromatic integrity of the fruit. After the tirage comes a minimum of eighteen months of ageing on the lees, with a dégorgement carried out with no final dosage to enhance its purity.
On tasting, Le Replat des Envieuses stands out for a chiselled and luminous profile, in which white fruit and delicate citrus accents intertwine with a marked mineral energy that precisely defines its character and rhythm. On the palate it shows a taut, driven balance, sustained by a lively line of acidity and an elegant structure, while the finish reveals a great saline persistence that lengthens the sensation of freshness and genuine vertical thrust. Production in a limited run of 2,900 bottles.
