The Champagne 3 Cépages by C.H. Piconnet is an elegant cuvée with a strong sense of identity, reflecting the artisanal style of this young family Domaine based in Neuville-sur-Seine, at the heart of the Côte des Bar, a terroir prized for its authenticity and the expressive generosity of its wines. As the name suggests, this cuvée is born from the blend of Champagne's three historic grape varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, from selected parcels around the village. Each variety makes its own specific contribution, with the Pinot Noir lending structure and depth, the Pinot Blanc bringing roundness and balance, while the Chardonnay adds elegance and freshness.

This edition, from the 2021 harvest, involves a vinification carried out in a restrained style that respects the raw material, aimed at preserving the expressive purity and overall harmony of the wine. After the tirage, the wine ages on its own lees for at least 24 months, developing aromatic finesse and complexity. The cuvée is then offered without final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, to bring out the identity of the terroir to the fullest.

On tasting, 3 Cépages appears in the glass with a bright straw yellow, crossed by a fine and lively perlage. The nose is fresh and inviting, with floral notes, citrus, white fruit, hints of almond and a slight mineral nuance. On the palate it is round, dynamic and well balanced, sustained by a vibrant tension that makes it energetic yet never aggressive, closing with a clean and persistent finish.

C.H. Piconnet

In 2014, Clément and his wife Agathe took over the 6-hectare family estate in Neuville-su-Seine and founded the Domaine C.H. Piconnet. The entire production, about 5,000 bottles, is managed in first person with daily work in the vineyards and various tastings in the lounges of the best independent winemakers. Any type of herbicide is banned in the vineyard and any action applied is reasoned with the sole purpose of preserving the authenticity of the terroir and enhance its expressiveness.

All Piconnet vineyards are recognized as "Haute Valeur Environmentale" as well as the management system "Vituculture Durable en Champagne". Both certifications testify the desire to lead an ethical and sustainable production. The quality of their Champagne continues to progress and we believe that Clément Piconnet will be a great future winemaker of the new generation.
