Le Pinot Blanc

The Champagne Le Pinot Blanc belongs to the “Le Parcellaires” selection introduced by Domaine C.H. Piconnet. This Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Pinot Blanc, one of the most fascinating Cépages Oubliés of Champagne, originates from the Lieu-Dit “La Côte de Val Mentra”, a parcel that preserves a rare viticultural heritage deeply connected to the history of the region. Vineyard management through massal selection maintains intra-varietal genetic diversity and helps preserve the pure identity of the terroir.

This edition, 2022 vintage, is crafted through vinification and fermentation in stainless steel, following an essential approach aimed at preserving clarity and expressive tension. After bottling, it ages at least 24 months on the lees, and the absence of final dosage at disgorgement, in Brut Nature style, enhances its natural salinity and vibrant mineral character.

On the palate, Le Pinot Blanc shows a bright straw-yellow color with a fine and persistent perlage. It reveals notes of white flowers, fresh citrus, crisp pear, and refined mineral nuances. The structure is tense and vertical, supported by marked salinity and a long, crystalline finish that precisely reflects the purity of this Cépage Oublié.

Production is extremely limited, with only 2,429 bottles and 63 Magnums.

C.H. Piconnet

In 2014, Clément and his wife Agathe took over the 6-hectare family estate in Neuville-su-Seine and founded the Domaine C.H. Piconnet. The entire production, about 5,000 bottles, is managed in first person with daily work in the vineyards and various tastings in the lounges of the best independent winemakers. Any type of herbicide is banned in the vineyard and any action applied is reasoned with the sole purpose of preserving the authenticity of the terroir and enhance its expressiveness.

All Piconnet vineyards are recognized as "Haute Valeur Environmentale" as well as the management system "Vituculture Durable en Champagne". Both certifications testify the desire to lead an ethical and sustainable production. The quality of their Champagne continues to progress and we believe that Clément Piconnet will be a great future winemaker of the new generation.
