Rosé de Saignée La Bretonne

The Champagne Rosé de Saignée “La Bretonne” is part of the 4 cuvées in the “Le Parcellaires” selection by Domaine C.H. Piconnet, an exclusive collection highlighting individual lieux-dits and vintages.

This wine is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir harvested in 2018 from the single vineyard Lieu-Dit “La Bretonne”. The grapes undergo a 24-hour maceration, which imparts an intense color, aromatic depth, and a fine tannic structure. It is then aged for about 30 months on the lees, with no final dosage (Brut Nature), allowing the terroir’s purity and the domaine’s artisanal approach to fully shine through.

The result is an expressive Rosé de Saignée, offering aromas of bitter cherry, strawberry meringue, with subtle floraland spicy notes. On the palate, it is vinous, fruit-forward, and refreshing, supported by a lively acidity that leads to a tight yet juicy finish, enriched by soft, well-integrated tannins.

Produced in extremely limited quantities, with only 539 bottles and 24 Magnums, it stands as a true gem that embodies the precision and authenticity of Domaine C.H. Piconnet.

C.H. Piconnet

In 2014, Clément and his wife Agathe took over the 6-hectare family estate in Neuville-su-Seine and founded the Domaine C.H. Piconnet. The entire production, about 5,000 bottles, is managed in first person with daily work in the vineyards and various tastings in the lounges of the best independent winemakers. Any type of herbicide is banned in the vineyard and any action applied is reasoned with the sole purpose of preserving the authenticity of the terroir and enhance its expressiveness.

All Piconnet vineyards are recognized as "Haute Valeur Environmentale" as well as the management system "Vituculture Durable en Champagne". Both certifications testify the desire to lead an ethical and sustainable production. The quality of their Champagne continues to progress and we believe that Clément Piconnet will be a great future winemaker of the new generation.
