Le Cran Magnum 2018

The Champagne Le Cran by Bérêche et Fils originates from two historic parcels located in the Premier Cru village of Ludes, in the Montagne de Reims, planted respectively in 1969 and 1973. This equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir precisely interprets the identity of a terroir capable of combining structural depth with mineral tension. The old vines, rooted in soils rich in chalk and clay, contribute to defining an intense and layered expression, faithful to the artisanal vision of the Bérêche family and focused on authenticity and expressive transparency.

This edition, Millésime 2018, reflects a generous and luminous vintage, marked by full ripeness and a natural balance between richness and freshness. Vinification takes place with fermentation by indigenous yeasts in neutral French oak barrels, a choice that enhances texture without overshadowing the varietal profile. Bottling is carried out under natural cork, followed by at least 60 months of aging on the lees, a period that develops complexity and aromatic articulation. The final dosage of 3.8 g/l, Extra Brut style, supports the balance while preserving integrity and precision.

On the palate, Le Cran 2018 reveals a deep and multifaceted bouquet, where ripe citrus, crisp white fruit, and hints of fine pastry intertwine with chalky nuances and lightly toasted notes. It shows a solid structure and vertical progression, supported by vibrant freshness that leads to a long, savory, and harmonious finish, where energy and finesse find equilibrium. Produced in a limited run of only 4,200 bottles and 320 Magnums.
