Coeur de Cuvée Magnum 2016
The Champagne Cœur de Cuvée by Vilmart is an exceptional cuvée, an emblem of expressive richness and territorial identity. It comes from a blend of 80% Chardonnay grapes and 20% Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from old vines of over fifty years in the Premier Cru of Rilly-la-Montagne. A rigorous selection that reflects the artisanal philosophy of the Domaine, devoted for generations to the most authentic and refined expression of the Montagne de Reims terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2011, is crafted exclusively from the heart of the cuvée, only 1,400 litres out of the 2,050 available, to preserve the utmost purity and concentration. Vinification and fermentation take place over 10 months in 228-litre Burgundy barriques. After bottling, the wine ages on its lees for over 72 months, defining a style that combines refinement, depth and remarkable longevity.
On tasting, Cœur de Cuvée 2011 it reveals a pale gold colour with silvery reflections, crossed by a fine and elegant perlage. The nose offers a floral bouquet of honeysuckle and orange blossom, intertwined with fresh fruits such as apple, vineyard peach and nectarine, alongside nuances of toasted almond and butter biscuit. On the palate it shows a dense yet airy texture, sustained by acacia honey, apricot jam and hazelnut, with an elegant structure that closes on a long and refined finish, a perfect balance between freshness and breadth.
