Louis Roederer
Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer stands as one of Champagne’s most established Houses, still independent and family-owned today. A decisive turning point came in 1833, when Louis Roederer reshaped the estate’s direction by prioritizing the direct acquisition of vineyards—an uncommon choice at the time. This vision laid the foundation for a style built on control of raw materials and the expression of terroir, strengthening the House’s reputation across international markets, from Imperial Russia to the United States.
Today, the House oversees around 250 hectares of vineyards spread across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs, divided into numerous parcels that are managed individually. Vineyard practices increasingly focus on sustainability and natural balance, with a precise, detail-oriented approach. This structure allows Louis Roederer to maintain a consistent stylistic identity defined by finesse, depth, and vibrancy.
Under the leadership of the Rouzaud family, the House continues to balance tradition with innovation, aiming to express each vintage as faithfully as possible. The focus remains on crafting wines that combine intensity with freshness, preserving a recognizable identity over time. The result is an elegant and dynamic style that reflects a constant dialogue between heritage and contemporary vision, marking Louis Roederer as one of Champagne’s most iconic names.
