The Champagne Cristal by Louis Roederer represents the absolute emblem of the Maison’s highest vision: a Champagne capable of combining gastronomic refinement with immediate pleasure, bringing together delicacy and power under the hallmark of impeccable stylistic precision. Created in 1876 at the request of Tsar Alexander II, who asked to receive each year the Maison’s finest cuvée, Cristal has established itself as the most iconic Champagne of Louis Roederer. The celebrated flat-bottomed crystal bottle, designed to подчерк highlight its exceptional character, has over time become a symbol of elegance and transparency. Cristal is produced exclusively in great vintages, when Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reach perfectly balanced maturity, expressing the purity and harmony of the most distinguished terroirs.

This Millésime 2013 edition in Magnum format, released in 2025, takes shape from a late vintage of great classicism. After a slow growing cycle, a radiant summer allowed for complete and progressive ripening of the grapes, with October harvests yielding wines of remarkable freshness, elegance, and mineral precision. The blend results from a rigorous selection of the finest Grand Cru parcels from Verzenay, Verzy, Beaumont-sur-Vesle, Aÿ, Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Cramant, composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Vinification excludes malolactic fermentation, while 32% of the wines are aged in wood. Ageing extends for over 10 years on the lees, followed by a dosage of 8 g/l, designed to sculpt a crystalline, vibrant profile of absolute precision.

ìIn tasting, Cristal 2013 presents itself as a perfect incarnation of chalky purity, revealing a youthful character that remains composed and restrained. The aromatic profile is fine and elegant, with delicate floral notes, juicy fruit, and citrus zest emerging with clarity and lightness. On the palate, nuances of dried fruit and hazelnut appear, enveloping and well integrated, set within a broad and incisive structure, supported by a deep mineral drive and a vinous dimension that is full and serene. The finish is long, luminous, and coherent, confirming Cristal 2013 as an expression of absolute purity, refinement, and extraordinary ageing potential.
