Rosé Vintage Magnum 2013
The Champagne Rosé Vintage by Louis Roederer fully embodies the Maison's distinctive style, the one in which the Pinot Noir of Cumières, rich in concentration, fruit and structure, interweaves with the crystalline elegance of the Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs. Born of the sunlit hills of Cumières, where the light reflected off the Marne caresses the best-exposed vines, this Rosé tells of the pursuit of a perfect ripeness that has always been the true challenge of Champagne.
This edition, Vintage 2013, comes from a cool year of rare finesse, showing a prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes flanked by 33% Chardonnay, with a 33% share vinified in oak casks that broadens its weave and aromatic depth. After tirage the wine undergoes around four years of ageing on the lees, completed by at least six months of rest in the cellar after dégorgement, a patient journey that perfects its maturity and defines its overall balance.
On tasting it reveals all the juicy, generous material of the Pinot Noir from the early terroir of Cumières, fully south-facing, refined and broadened by the sleek freshness of the Chardonnays of Chouilly with their northern exposure. On the palate it is vibrant and elegant, with a full, luminous fruit sustained by a lively saline tension and a chalky freshness that draw out a pure, taut and persistent finish, of irresistible allure and rare stylistic composure.
