Rosé Émotion 2015
The Champagne Émotion by Vilmart is a Vintage Rosé of rare depth and character, a true manifesto of the artisanal sensibility of one of the most refined and recognisable names in the Montagne de Reims. It takes shape from grapes carefully selected and harvested in vines over forty-five years old set around the Premier Cru village of Rilly-la-Montagne, where the constant pursuit of stylistic precision converses with a patient philosophy devoted to the purest and most sincere expression of the terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2015, shows in its blend a predominance of Pinot Noir grapes at 60%, partly vinified as red wine, alongside 40% Chardonnay from the most gifted parcels, with a vinification and maturation carried out over ten months in fût de chêne. After the tirage comes an ageing on its own lees for a minimum of six years, which shapes the depth, creaminess and refined complexity of the wine, completed by a final dosage of 8 g/l, in a Brut style.
On tasting, Émotion Rosé reveals itself with a luminous orange-pink colour crossed by a fine, regular and persistent perlage, while the rich and intense bouquet alternates strawberry, raspberry and morello cherry with hints of peony, vanilla, honey, almond, cinnamon and delicate boisé nuances. On the palate it is pure and elegant, with a creamy texture and a broad, enveloping structure in which fruit, acidity and spice find an impeccable balance, leading to a long and vibrant finish of great persistence.
