Rosé de Mailly

The Champagne Rosé de Mailly gracefully expresses the fruity and velvety soul of Mailly, a house whose distinctive signature lies in the Pinot Noir. Born from a meticulous maceration carried out according to the saignée method, this Rosé Grand Cru reveals a perfect balance of finesse, aromatic intensity, and gourmandise. It is crafted from a blend of approximately 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, sourced mainly from the lieux-dits Les Lounges Roies, Les Coutures, and Les Chalois, located in the Grand Cru village of Mailly-Champagne. Their north-facing exposure imparts to the wine remarkable freshness, tension, and aromatic depth.

This edition, from the 2020 harvest, comes from a year that yielded grapes of extraordinary ripeness and concentration. Following a harvest with rigorous selection on a sorting table, the grapes undergo a brief maceration of just a few hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation and full malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The blend also includes a small portion of Pinot Noir vinified as red wine, which enhances its color and complexity. After the tirage, the wine is aged on lees in traditional chalk crayères for a minimum of 36 months, before receiving a 6.5 g/l Brut dosage, which enhances its balance, roundness, and overall harmony.

On the palate, the Rosé de Mailly captivates with its silky texture and aromatic depth. Notes of crisp red fruits and kirsch-like cherry intertwine with hints of juicy citrus, delicate flowers, and meringue nuances, offering a creamy yet vibrant sip, supported by lively freshness and a long, refined finish.
