Nature Millésime 2016

The Champagne Nature Millésime 2016 by Solemme is a Blanc de Blancs crafted exclusively from Chardonnaygrown in the clay-limestone soils of Chamery and the chalk-rich soils of Villers-aux-Noeuds.

The winemaking philosophy, in harmony with the lunar cycles, highlights the authenticity of the terroir. The vinification includes partial malolactic fermentations and no fining or filtration. After a long ageing on its lees, the dégorgement is carried out in accordance with the lunar phases, with no added dosage (Brut Nature) and no sulfites. The natural presence of possible tartaric deposits confirms a pure and respectful approach.

On the palate, Nature Millésime 2016 shows a bright golden colour and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe yellow fruit, citrus and delicate mineral nuances, enriched with floral hints and chalky notes. The taste combines freshness, precision and depth, supported by an elegant texture and a long, savoury persistence.

Production is strictly limited to only 3,392 bottles, underlining the rarity and exclusivity of this cuvée.

Solemme

The Domaine Solemme is based in Villers-aux-Nœuds, just a few kilometers south of Reims, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Since 1998, Olivier Langlais, the sixth generation of vignerons, has been managing the estate’s 6 hectares of vineyards divided among five Premier Cru terroirs of the Montagne de Reims and a parcel in the Vallée de l’Ardre, following an approach rooted in respect for nature and harmony between vineyard and environment.

The soils, with their remarkable geological diversity, combine chalk, clay-limestone, silt, and sand, with exposures ranging from flatlands to gentle slopes. This pedoclimatic mosaic allows the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier – to fully express their identity, giving life to cuvées distinguished by aromatic breadth, elegance, and vibrant minerality.

Faithful to a philosophy of natural winemaking, Olivier has constantly refined his vineyard and cellar practices to enhance the authenticity of his wines. Today, the Domaine welcomes the seventh generation with Clément, Olivier’s son and trained oenologist, who joins his father in a path where tradition and innovation intertwine, consolidating Solemme’s distinctive style.
