Esprit Millésime 2019

The Champagne Esprit Millésime 2019 by Solemme is born from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Meunier, sourced from the chalky soils of Villers-aux-Nœuds and the clay-limestone slopes of Chamery. This union gives life to a cuvée of great elegance, marked by natural refinement that authentically expresses the style of the Domaine.

The production philosophy, in harmony with the lunar cycles, is based on respect for the purity of the grape and its natural balance. Vinification includes partial malolactic fermentation, with no fining or filtration. After a long aging on the lees, disgorgement is carried out according to the lunar phases, with no dosage (Brut Nature) and no added sulphites. The possible presence of tartaric precipitations highlights an artisanal and transparent approach.

On the palate, Esprit Millésime 2019 shows a bright golden color and a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. The bouquet reveals delicate fruity notes enhanced by a subtle salinity, while the palate is distinguished by harmony between fresh citrus, white flowers, and a vibrant minerality.

Solemme

The Domaine Solemme is based in Villers-aux-Nœuds, just a few kilometers south of Reims, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Since 1998, Olivier Langlais, the sixth generation of vignerons, has been managing the estate’s 6 hectares of vineyards divided among five Premier Cru terroirs of the Montagne de Reims and a parcel in the Vallée de l’Ardre, following an approach rooted in respect for nature and harmony between vineyard and environment.

The soils, with their remarkable geological diversity, combine chalk, clay-limestone, silt, and sand, with exposures ranging from flatlands to gentle slopes. This pedoclimatic mosaic allows the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier – to fully express their identity, giving life to cuvées distinguished by aromatic breadth, elegance, and vibrant minerality.

Faithful to a philosophy of natural winemaking, Olivier has constantly refined his vineyard and cellar practices to enhance the authenticity of his wines. Today, the Domaine welcomes the seventh generation with Clément, Olivier’s son and trained oenologist, who joins his father in a path where tradition and innovation intertwine, consolidating Solemme’s distinctive style.
