Rose Millésime 2020

The Champagne Rose Millésime 2020 by Solemme is a Rosé d’assemblage made from 93% Chardonnay, sourced from the vineyards of Chamery and Villers-aux-Nœuds, and 7% Meunier grown in the historic Lieu-Dit “La Motelle”, a parcel over fifty years old located in the Premier Cru terroir of Villers-aux-Nœuds.

Vinification involves the maceration of the Meunier, later blended with the Chardonnay, with no filtration or tartaric stabilization, and natural malolactic fermentation. The final Extra Brut dosage conveys purity and authenticity, while remaining faithful to the identity of the terroirs of origin.

On the palate, Rosé Millésime 2020 reveals a bright pale pink hue and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet opens with crisp red fruits and delicate floral accents, while the palate offers freshness and minerality, enhanced by an elegant tension that brings length and harmony to the cuvée.

Produced in a limited edition of only 1,500 bottles.

The Domaine Solemme is based in Villers-aux-Nœuds, just a few kilometers south of Reims, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Since 1998, Olivier Langlais, the sixth generation of vignerons, has been managing the estate’s 6 hectares of vineyards divided among five Premier Cru terroirs of the Montagne de Reims and a parcel in the Vallée de l’Ardre, following an approach rooted in respect for nature and harmony between vineyard and environment.

The soils, with their remarkable geological diversity, combine chalk, clay-limestone, silt, and sand, with exposures ranging from flatlands to gentle slopes. This pedoclimatic mosaic allows the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier – to fully express their identity, giving life to cuvées distinguished by aromatic breadth, elegance, and vibrant minerality.

Faithful to a philosophy of natural winemaking, Olivier has constantly refined his vineyard and cellar practices to enhance the authenticity of his wines. Today, the Domaine welcomes the seventh generation with Clément, Olivier’s son and trained oenologist, who joins his father in a path where tradition and innovation intertwine, consolidating Solemme’s distinctive style.
