Les Muits 2021
The Champagne Les Muits by Georges Remy takes its name from the parcel that gives it life, a vineyard overlooking the Premier Cru village of Tauxières, where Chardonnay finds one of its most luminous and vertical expressions. Chalky clay soils and a favourable exposure shape grapes of rare finesse, interpreted through a craftsman's vision deeply faithful to its origin, able to turn a single parcel into a precious Blanc de Blancs in an area whose tradition speaks above all of Pinot Noir.
This edition, Vintage 2021, entrusts vinification and maturation to ten months in fût de chêne, a choice that deepens the fruit without compressing its tension. After bottling, the wine rests for at least 36 months on the lees, and the dégorgement is then carried out with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style that preserves the purity and essentiality of the house signature.
On tasting, Les Muits 2021 opens on a broad profile of ripe white fruit, citrus and flowers, enriched by light spicy nuances left by the wood. On the palate the attack is fresh and the salinity supports a relaxed body, in which the fruity sensations gradually give way to more defined notes of butter and pastry cream. The balance between acidity and substance remains its defining trait, with measured structure and an elegant finish of long persistence. Production in a limited run of 1,437 bottles and 50 magnums.
