Rosè de Saignée "Le Paradis"
The Champagne Rosé de Saignée "Le Paradis" by Roland Champion tells one of the rarest and most distinctive expressions of the Rive Droite in the Vallée de la Marne, from the sole Meunier grapes of a single estate parcel in Verneuil. It is a Rosé conceived to enhance the authentic character of the variety, where the saignée method yields a wine of great personality, faithful to a tradition that has bound the family to this terroir and its finest vineyards for generations.
This edition, from the 2020 harvest, is crafted following an artisanal method that brings out the colour and intensity obtained through maceration. Vinification and maturation take place in fût de chêne for about 10 months, gaining depth and complexity. After the tirage, the wine ages on its own lees for a minimum of 24 months, with no final dosage at disgorgement, in a Brut Nature style, expressing its purest identity.
On tasting, "Le Paradis" 2020 proves broad and vinous, with a full, generous structure that reflects the character of Meunier vinified as a red wine. The balance plays on the intensity of the fruit and on a delicate tannic texture that lends depth and gustatory tension. The persistence is long and profound, marked by a dry, clean finish, free of any sweetening, that confirms the authenticity and stylistic coherence of this cuvée. Production in a limited run of 703 bottles.
