The Champagne Cuvée Henri III by R.H. Coutier was created as a tribute to family tradition and to the prestige of the village of Ambonnay, representing one of the most emblematic expressions of Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. The vines that compose it, all classified as Grand Cru, grow on soils made up of chalk, limestone, and clay, which give the wine energy, finesse, and mineral depth. This cuvée embodies the most authentic identity of the Domaine, built on a balance between artisan heritage and contemporary sensitivity.

This edition is based on a blend of 60% from the 2015 vintage and 40% from 2014, creating a harmonious interplay between maturity and freshness. The traditional vinification, with gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, and maturation in oak barrels, preserves the fruit’s complexity and vitality. After bottling, the wine undergoes at least 7 years of ageing on the lees, followed by an Extra Brut dosage (less than 3 g/l) that enhances its precision and purity of expression.

On tasting, Cuvée Henri III stands out for its fine, creamy mousse and persistent perlage. The bouquet is deep and complex, revealing notes of ripe red fruits, candied citrus, toasted hazelnut, and delicate spices, evolving toward elegant mineral and chalky nuances. On the palate, it shows breadth and tension, supported by vibrant freshness and a saline persistence that carries through to a long, clean, and harmonious finish. A Blanc de Noirs of character and artisanal precision, and a true emblem of the Grand Cru excellence of Ambonnay.
