Champagne Pierre Paillard
Ludes 2019
The Champagne Ludes by Pierre Paillard offers a precise interpretation of Meunier in the Montagne de Reims, taking shape in the Premier Cru village of Ludes, on the northern slopes of the massif. The grapes come from old vines located in two distinctive parcels, both classified as lieux-dits, Les Hautes Pertes and Les Vigneulles de Devant, delivering a deep, energetic and coherent expression of the terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2019, is based entirely on Meunier and is vinified in oak barrels to enhance complexity without compromising precision, while after bottling it undergoes 48 months of aging on the lees, adding depth and definition. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, preserves a tense, clean and well-balanced profile.
On the palate, Ludes 2019 shows an intense and dynamic character, with notes of ripe fruit, citrus, light spices and mineral hints. It reveals depth and tension, supported by a fine texture and a long, savory and precise finish.
