The Champagne Copin Pinot Noir by Pierre Deville is born from the Domaine’s intention to offer a pure and artisanal interpretation of Pinot Noir from Verzy Grand Cru. The historic parcels, cultivated for several generations, rise on a mosaic of chalky and clay-limestone soils that shape a complex and vertical aromatic profile. This Blanc de Noirs embodies the philosophy of Alban Corbeaux: to enhance the terroir through precision, respect for the raw material, and a sincere, transparent style.

This 2021 vintage edition comes from a selection of grapes sourced from old vines, vinified with spontaneous fermentations and matured in fût de chêne, following the artisanal approach that characterizes the Domaine. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, while ageing on the lees continues for at least 36 months before a disgorgement carried out without compromising expressive purity. The final dosage, Extra Brut below 4 g/L, is designed to preserve tension, verticality, and a clear reading of the fruit, enhancing the nobility of Pinot Noir from Verzy.

In tasting, Copin Pinot Noir reveals a deep and precise profile: notes of crunchy red fruits, pomegranate, red citrus peel, and slight spicy nuances intertwine with the chalky minerality typical of Verzy. On the palate, it shows balance between intensity and finesse, with a silky texture supported by vibrant freshness and a vertical structure that leads to a long, saline, and clean finish. The persistence is refined, marked by mineral and fruity echoes that confirm the identity-driven and elegant character of this Blanc de Noirs.
