Cuvée des Enchanteleurs 2015

The Champagne Cuvée des Enchanteleurs by Henriot marks the return of the Maison's tête de cuvée after a decade of interruption, a creation whose roots date back to 1889 and which bears the name of the cellar masters who watched over the evolution of the wines. It is the highest expression of a style founded on the pursuit of balance, depth and long ageing, built in equal parts from the six founding Grand Crus, with Verzy, Verzenay and Mailly-Champagne on the chalky soils of the Montagne de Reims and Avize, Chouilly and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger on the chalky terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.

This edition, Vintage 2015, is born from a sun-drenched and generous year, where a warm summer followed by cool nights before the harvest yielded ripe and concentrated berries endowed with beautiful tension. The blend in equal parts unites the purity and drive of Chardonnay with the density and intensity of Pinot Noir, while after tirage comes an ageing of at least ten years on its own lees, at the end of which the final dosage of 2.5 g/l accompanies with measure a wine of structure and energy.

On the palate, the Cuvée des Enchanteleurs 2015 reveals a rich and chiselled profile, where notes of ripe fruit and citrus intertwine with mineral and saline hints and delicate smoky nuances. The palate is broad and deep, sustained by a salient freshness and a very fine bubble that accompany a long and dynamic development, closing on a persistent and chalky finish that confirms the elegance and the extraordinary expressive coherence of this tête de cuvée of great ageing potential.
