The Champagne Champ d'Alouette 2007 represents one of the rarest and most profound expressions of Domaine Gonet-Médeville, crafted from a single parcel of Chardonnay located in the Grand Cru of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the Côte des Blancs. This single-vineyard cuvée is produced exclusively in outstanding vintages and takes its name from the Lieu-Ditof origin, cultivated with a sustainable approach that respects biodiversity.
The vinification follows an artisanal and non-interventionist philosophy: spontaneous fermentation in used barriques, with no fining, filtration or malolactic fermentation. The wine then undergoes an extended ageing of over 15 years on the lees before disgorgement, allowing it to develop remarkable aromatic depth and structural complexity. The final dosage is just 2 g/l – Extra Brut – designed to enhance the purity and expressive integrity of the vintage.
On the palate, Champ d’Alouette 2007 impresses with its refined complexity: notes of candied citrus peel, dried fruit, toasted nuances and chalky undertones unfold in a broad and vertical bouquet. The mouthfeel is dense yet taut, sculpted by vibrant minerality and a crystalline freshness that carries through to a long, saline finish.
