Champagne Francis Boulard
Rosé de Saignée 2019
The Champagne Rosé de Saignée by Francis Boulard is a Rosé of great personality and temperament, born entirely from Meunier grapes grown in the village of Cuchery, along the slopes of the Vallée de la Marne. The biodynamic philosophy guiding the Domaine celebrates absolute respect for the fruit and the authenticity of a terroir capable of expressing itself with rare chromatic and expressive intensity.
This edition, Vintage 2019, takes shape through the traditional saignée method, with an 18-hour maceration that allows a gentle extraction of colour and structure while fully preserving the integrity of the fruit. Vinification and fermentation occur spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in fût de chêne. After tirage, the wine matures on its own lees for over 60 months, a prolonged period that encourages aromatic evolution and gustatory complexity. The final dosage of 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, enhances expressive purity and mineral tension without masking either the territorial identity or the character of the vintage.
On the palate it appears with an intense cherry-red rosé colour, luminous and bright, anticipating a refined aromatic range of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, citrus zest and sweet spices, embellished by light smoky accents. On the palate it proves ample, vibrant and structured, supported by a very fine tannic texture and a vivid acidity that leads toward a persistent finish, in which minerality and fruit blend with great expressive coherence.
