The journey of Étienne Calsac tells the story of the new generation of vignerons in Champagne. Raised in a family of winegrowers, in 2010 – at only 26 years old – he decided to take over the inherited vineyards, transforming them into an independent Domaine founded on identity and precision. After several experiences with great Maisons, he chose to place terroir and parcel-based vinification at the center of his work, with the idea of restoring authenticity and finesse to each cuvée. His young age did not prevent him from quickly gaining attention and esteem, thanks to an approach as rigorous as it is innovative.

Étienne’s vineyard extends over about 3 hectares between Avize, Grauves, and Bisseuil, Grand Cru of the Côte des Blancs and Premier Cru of the Grande Vallée de la Marne. It also includes the precious Clos des Maladries, planted by his grandparents in the 1970s and today the symbol of the Domaine. Chardonnay is predominant, but Étienne has also revived rare cépages oubliés such as Petit Meslier, Arbane, and Pinot Blanc, used in cuvées of great personality. Vineyard work follows the principles of organic farming, with horse plowing, indigenous yeasts, and a philosophy of minimal intervention.

Étienne Calsac’s Champagnes reflect a constant search for purity and territorial expressiveness. Each wine is born from the balance between tradition and contemporary sensibility, with vinifications that carefully combine fermentations and maturations in steel and wood to enhance the character of the soils. The result is a style of taut freshness, aromatic precision, and mineral persistence, which has allowed the Domaine to establish itself in just a few years as one of the most interesting names of the new artisanal Champagne.
