Champagne Erick Schreiber

Initial Rosé

The Champagne Initial Rosé by Erick Schreiber is an authentic and vibrant expression of Pinot Noir grown in Courteron, in the heart of the Côte des Bar. Obtained from a single vintage (2022), it is produced through a cold maceration of carefully selected grapes, a technique that enhances the aromatic intensity and finesse of the fruit. The final dosage of 4.24 g/l, within the Brut parameters, preserves the wine’s tension and gustatory balance. The character of this Rosé is deeply rooted in the Kimmeridgian terroir, which imparts structure, freshness, and a distinctive minerality.

On tasting, Initial Rosé presents itself as a gourmet and refined Champagne: the nose is dominated by red fruit notes, including morello cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant, while the palate reveals finesse and good aromatic breadth. A cuvée that fully expresses its youth through a sense of pure freshness and a clear territorial identity.

In the Côte des Bar, in Courteron, lies Domaine Erick Schreiber, a small estate of about six and a half hectares set within an area renowned for its organic vocation. It is led by Erick Schreiber, a winemaker-oenologist and pioneer of biodynamics since 1990, driven by the desire to preserve a sustainable ecosystem and to keep the vineyard in harmony with its natural environment. To him is owed the creation of biodynamic yeast strains now adopted by leading Maisons, the fruit of constant research and of a vision that places respect for nature at the heart of every choice.

The vineyards, certified organic and biodynamic according to the Demeter standard, are cultivated without any synthetic product, on a clay-limestone soil that lends structure and brightness to the wines. Pinot Noir largely dominates the plantings, accompanied by Chardonnay and a refined presence of Pinot Blanc, Meunier and Pinot Gris, for a total production of around twenty-five thousand bottles. The result is authentic Champagnes, fresh and mineral, of notable aromatic complexity, faithfully translating the terroir of origin and the deep bond between the land and those who tend it.
