The Champagne Terre d’Origine by Erik Schreiber is conceived as an identity-driven expression of the Côte des Bar and the Vallée de la Seine, a mosaic of vineyards rooted in the region’s characteristic Kimmeridgian soils. In this landscape shaped by ancient clays and marls, Schreiber pursues an artisanal vision focused on an authentic reading of the territory and on enhancing its geological richness. The parcels that compose Terre d’Origine embody this philosophy: vineyards tended with sensitivity, where minerality and structure emerge naturally and spontaneously.
This edition, obtained from a single 2018 harvest, is crafted from a blend of 68% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, and 12% Meunier. Fermentation and ageing in fût de chêne lend depth and layered complexity, while at least 60 months of lees ageing after tirage help shape its precision and nuance. The final dosage of just 2.3 g/l preserves tension, purity of expression, and a clearly defined territorial signature.
On the palate, Terre d’Origine reveals an intense and finely chiselled profile, with notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, hints of fresh almond, and subtle spicy nuances. The palate combines vivid mineral tension with balanced creaminess, showing a harmonious structure and an elegant progression. The finish is long and saline, with a clean, vibrant closure that faithfully reflects its origin. A coherent and refined work, uniting depth, precision, and artisanal authenticity.
