Champagne Eric Taillet
Le Bois de Binson 17.18
The Champagne Le Bois de Binson 17.18 by Éric Taillet is a Blanc de Meunier of rare expressive intensity, made from 100% Meunier grapes grown in the eponymous Lieu-Dit, planted in 1956 in the terroir of Montigny-sous-Châtillon, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. This historic parcel is a deeply symbolic and emotional landmark for the Taillet family, being one of the first vineyards cultivated by Daniel, Éric’s father. Replanted exclusively to Meunier, it covers less than half a hectare, a testament to the artisan approach and meticulous care of the vigneron.
This cuvée is the result of a blend of the 2017 and 2018 vintages, and follows a traditional vinification process: wooden press, fermentation and aging on the lees in vats and barrels, before resting 36 months in bottle on its lees. The minimal dosage of 1.5 g/l defines its Extra Brut style, allowing the purest expression of fruit and terroir to shine through.
On the palate, Le Bois de Binson impresses with its flavourful richness and a balance that bridges density and freshness. The bouquet opens with fruity and citrus notes, while the mouthfeel is deep, elegant, and animated by a vibrant mineral energy. Long and precise on the finish, it stands as one of the most accomplished and personal interpretations of pure Meunier.
