Spécial Club "Les Fortes Terres" 2020
The Champagne Spécial Club "Les Fortes Terres" 2020 by Famille Moussé is a Blanc de Noirs that combines stylistic rigor and deep territorial rootedness. It represents an authentic expression of Meunier cultivated in the Premier Cru of Cuisles, in the Vallée de la Marne, a village renowned for the uniqueness of its soils. The grapes come from the namesake Lieu-Dit Les Fortes Terres, planted in 1976 on layers of green clay, a geological rarity that imparts a strong mineral identity and a vibrant tension to the wine.
The 2020 vintage offered raw material that was rich and perfectly ripe, enhanced by winemaking carried out entirely in fût de chêne, where the wine ages for 6 months before tirage. This is followed by a long maturation of over 36 months on the lees, which helps define aromatic complexity and gustatory precision. The minimal dosage of 0.5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, fully reflects the philosophy of the Domaine, always oriented toward transparency, purity, and territorial identity.
In tasting, Les Fortes Terres 2020 presents itself as deep and incisive, with aromas of crunchy red fruits, pomegranate, dark citrus, and a chalky imprint reminiscent of the green clay of Cuisles. On the palate it is tense and vertical, supported by a fine texture and a saline minerality that amplifies elegance and drive. The balance between energy, austerity, and aromatic finesse is impeccable, while the long, vibrant finish reaffirms the expressive strength of the Meunier Premier Cru and the precise stylistic signature of Famille Moussé.
